The Mineral.

Geographically Exclusive.

Himalayan Crystal Salt is only found in a 200km range of mountains and valleys found in the country of Pakistan. Located in the heart of South Asia, The country features the 6th largest population in the world, and the 3rd largest English speaking population in the world. Pakistan’s unique geographic positioning allows it to have mountains in the north, the Indus River Valley at its heart, a mineral-rich frontier on in the south-west, and a coastal boarder with the ocean in the south. This versatile landscape is full of mineral deposits, one of which is the crystal rock salt deposit found in the Salt Range.

About The Mineral.

Formation.

A process that dates back more than 250 million years, the crystal salt found in Pakistan was trapped in the region during the land formation of Asia. After millions of years of natural crystallization, these deposits have become the most pure salt reserves on earth.

Composition.

The salt content ranges from 95-99% purity, and the remaining composition is a blend of 84+ naturally occurring trace minerals that are found in each batch of crystal. These minerals are what give the crystal its unique color range. The purest crystals are transparent, and the darker shades feature more natural mineral content.

Uses.

Our crystal salt is organically formed and serves a function in a variety of industries. This naturally sourced mineral is good for edible use for both humans and animals, and is also a constructive material that provides the salt a function as décor. It is also used for wellness products in the spa industry and other health-related functions.

The Salt Range.

There are many mining locations throughout the Salt Range. Our operations are correlated with the larger mines in the region, these mines are operated by the Gov. Of Pakistan, and are growing their production on a yearly basis. The three largest mines are the following:

Kalabagh, Punjab

The Kalabagh mines are located deep in the salt range area, however they are accessible due to their unique location next to the Indus River. The river passes through this rugged terrain, and then enters the Punjab valley.

Khewra, Punjab

Found at the foothills of the Himalayas, and bordering the valley of Punjab, Khewra is the longest operating mine. Established in the 1800’s during British colonial rule, the mine still operates till this day and produces the largest amount of Salt.

Warcha, Punjab

Located in the heart of the salt range, some 120 kms from Islamabad, Warcha is known for its purity levels and features the second largest mining operation in the region.
